Fizan Compact 1947 Limited Edition trekking poles are a more aesthetic version of Fizan Compact poles that have an excellent price-to-performance ratio. They are very light and still sturdy. We are happy users of these poles ourselves. Other long distance hikers swear by these poles as well, check out for example the positive 750-mile review in Reddit’s /r/Ultralight or Dan Durston’s review on his blog.

Fizan Flexy adjustment system holds really well. It is constructed of an aluminium plug and Delrin (DuPont material) expander. This ensures safe and trustworthy locking mechanism, that is comparable even to a leverlock system, but lighter. These poles have been used for example on Mount Everest and K2. The expander has a small “claw” that prevents a situation where the locking mechanism can’t be tightened if it has been loosened too much.

Fizan is an Italian company that has been manufacturing trekking poles since 1947 which is the reason behind naming these poles. The poles are made in Italy, not China.

The price includes two poles.

Fizan Compact 1947 Limited Edition is a three piece telescopic trekking pole just like the traditional Fizan Compact but the Limited Edition is definitely more pleasing to the eye and comes with a handy protective bag.
