We are Farlite.
Farlite is an outdoor store specializing in ultralight backpacking equipment. We are based in Finland, and ship throughout EU. Our goal is to provide premium hiking equipment to ultralight backpackers around Europe.
Farlite was founded by two ultralight hiking enthusiasts. Co-founder Ossi is a well-known person in the Finnish ultralight community. He has written a popular book and blog about ultralight hiking in the Nordic wilderness.
Farlite stocks the very best hiking equipment
Farlite focuses on hand-selecting the best backpacking equipment for our customers. We know and understand what works in Nordic wilderness very well. Selected products have surpassed our review process, and are often the same gear we and other experienced backpackers use on our hikes. We carefully select international brands with products that work well in Nordic conditions.
We make gearing up for a hike easy. You can sort our products by weight to make the selection process convenient. We use a rapid shipping service that has a long history of delivering products to customers in EU.
We know hiking gear for Nordic conditions better than anyone.
Our team has years of experience of testing and writing about hiking gear professionally. Nordic wilderness is our playground and sanctuary.

Many people in the Finnish hiking scene know Ossi through his books on ultralight hiking and backpacking gear. He has been a key voice for ultralight backpacking through his blog Kevyesti kairassa. He has also written memorable trip reports to the leading Finnish outdoor magazine Retki. Ossi is also a licensed wilderness guide.
“I have seen many people take up ultralight backpacking throughout the years, but some have said that finding gear in Europe is not easy. We decided to help out and founded Farlite.”
Valtteri is a hiking enthusiast and a fly fisher. He started backpacking the ultralight way right from the get-go. He and Ossi joined many hikes where they pondered the difficulty of finding good quality ultralight equipment in Europe. One day we decided to do something about it.
“I enjoy hiking with a light pack, fly fishing, and combining the two. I don’t see any reason why beginners should start first with a heavy pack. Get modern equipment right from the start!”
